Certification
How long is Strategic Value Streams certification valid?
Foundation and Practitioner certifications are valid for 36 months from the date of award. Fellowship extends active certification validity by 36 months from the date of award.

What happens if certification expires?
Upon expiry, certification status lapses and associated digital credentials are revoked. Expired credentials must not be represented as active certification.
Reinstatement requires re-examination or structured review depending on certification level.
Does progressing to Practitioner reset Foundation renewal?
Yes. Higher certification supersedes lower-level renewal cycles. A new 36 month validity period begins from the date of award of the higher credential.
Is certification open book?
No. All examinations are conducted under closed book conditions and delivered via remote proctoring.
Body of Knowledge
Why is the Strategic Value Streams Body of Knowledge available without charge?
The Body of Knowledge defines the standard governing all certification levels. Open access supports clarity of interpretation, consistency of application and transparency of scope.
Certification provides formal recognition of structured understanding and applied capability aligned to this standard.
The development and governance of the Body of Knowledge is supported through certification and accreditation activities.
Is reading the Body of Knowledge required before taking certification?
Candidates are strongly encouraged to review the Body of Knowledge prior to examination. Assessment instruments are constructed and governed in alignment with this standard.
Accreditation
How can I become an Accredited Training Partner (ATP)?
Accredited Training Partner status recognises individuals authorised to deliver training aligned to the Strategic Value Streams Body of Knowledge.
Applicants must demonstrate:
• Professional experience
• Subject matter competence
• Alignment with the Body of Knowledge
• Commitment to training quality standards
Status is granted following structured review.
How can our organisation become an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO)?
Accredited Training Organisation status recognises organisations authorised to deliver formally recognised Strategic Value Streams training.
Requirements include:
• Defined training materials aligned to the Body of Knowledge
• Identified Accredited Training Partner(s)
• Administrative capability to manage candidate certification
• Agreement to commercial and governance terms
Applications are assessed through structured evaluation.

Strategic Value Streams is developing a professional standard for enterprise value stream operating models and strategic execution.

All active certifications are accompanied by a verifiable digital credential. Public verification reflects current status.
Can expired credentials be displayed?
Expired credentials must not be represented as active certification. Historical completion may be referenced only if clearly identified as expired.
