1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern:

• Use of the Strategic Value Streams website
• Access to the Body of Knowledge
• Membership subscriptions
• Certification examinations and assessments
• Digital credentials and verification services

By accessing the website, registering for membership, or purchasing an examination, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

2. About Strategic Value Streams

Strategic Value Streams is the professional body responsible for publishing the Strategic Value Streams Body of Knowledge and administering certification examinations.

References to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to Strategic Value Streams.

3. International Use

We offer services internationally.

If you access our services from outside the United Kingdom:

• You are responsible for compliance with local laws
• You are responsible for any local taxes, duties, or regulatory requirements
• You acknowledge that services are delivered from the United Kingdom

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence where legally required.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

You must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts where misuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms is suspected.

5. Membership

Membership may provide:

• Structured access to the Body of Knowledge
• Eligibility to sit certification examinations
• Status verification
• Ongoing professional recognition

Membership subscriptions may renew automatically where indicated at purchase.

You may cancel renewal at any time before the next billing date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership where these Terms are breached.

6. Certification and Validity

Certification is awarded upon successful completion of the relevant examination and satisfaction of any eligibility criteria.

Validity periods:

• Foundation – valid for 36 months
• Practitioner – valid for 36 months and supersedes Foundation validity
• Fellow – extends certification validity by 36 months

If certification expires:

• Status lapses automatically
• Digital credentials may be revoked
• Public verification status may be updated

Certification does not guarantee employment, commercial benefit, or professional advancement.

7. Examinations and Assessments

Examinations are delivered digitally via authorised platforms.

You must:

• Sit the examination personally
• Not use unauthorised assistance
• Not copy or reproduce examination content
• Not attempt to manipulate the examination system

Misconduct may result in:

• Immediate exam invalidation
• Revocation of certification
• Permanent exclusion from future examinations

All examination decisions are final.

8. Fees and Payments

Fees are published on the website and may be updated at any time.

Payment must be made in full before access is granted.

Examination and Assessment Fees

All examination and assessment fees are non refundable once:

• Registration has been completed, and
• Access to the examination or assessment window has been granted.

Fees will not be refunded for:

• Failure to attend
• Failure to achieve a passing score
• Change of personal circumstances
• Lack of preparation
• Expiry of an examination window
• Technical issues arising from the candidate’s own equipment or internet connection

Refunds will only be provided where required by applicable law or where we are unable to deliver the examination service.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Intellectual Property

All content including:

• The Body of Knowledge
• Certification frameworks
• Examination materials
• Logos and branding

is protected by intellectual property rights.

You may access content for personal professional use only.

You may not:

• Reproduce or distribute content
• Commercially exploit content
• Share examination materials
• Represent yourself as certified where certification has expired or been revoked

Unauthorised use may result in legal action.

10. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Attempt unauthorised access to systems
• Interfere with website functionality
• Upload malicious code
• Use services for unlawful purposes

We may suspend access where misuse is detected.

11. Service Availability

We aim to maintain continuous service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may suspend services temporarily for maintenance, updates, or security reasons.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss
• We are not liable for loss of profit, business opportunity, or reputation
• Our total liability in any 12 month period shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in that period

Nothing excludes liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded

13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including technical outages, cyber incidents, natural disasters, or government restrictions.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where:

• These Terms are breached
• Examination misconduct occurs
• Fraudulent activity is suspected

Termination does not affect accrued rights.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

The latest version will be published on the website.

Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Where you are a consumer residing outside the United Kingdom, you may also have mandatory rights under your local law.

Subject to mandatory consumer protections, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
